The rescued animals are the lucky
few amongst their kind who no longer live a short life of
suffering. A life that often ends in fear and pain. Stroke
a cow's neck and give a pig a belly rub. (Yes, they love them!)
The animals serve as ambassadors for their species. Until
you hear their heartrending stories, you might never know
that some were raised in the cruel conditions of modern factory
farming, abandoned, or mistreated. Once caged, neglected,
or considered only as a means of income, these animals now
enjoy loving care - and the sun, space, and fresh air of SASHA
Farm’s sixty-five picturesque acres.
We invite you to come to the sanctuary to meet the animals
and learn more about our organization. However, please be
aware that SASHA Farm is a small volunteer-based organization. Therefore,
it is not possible to be open to the public on a daily basis.
Tours are by
appointment only. We are closed to the public on
all holidays. When scheduling a tour, please wait for a confirmation
that we have the staff available to accomodate your group
before coming to the farm. Caring for our
animal residents must take priority over answering calls and
emails, but we will try our very best to get back to you as
quickly as we can!

Finding SASHA Farm
We are located at 17901 Mahrle Road in Manchester,
Michigan. Mapquest gives
good directions from most locations. We are a little
out of the way, but well worth the drive and the scenic winding
rural roads surrounding the sanctuary are beautiful all year
round. Be sure to slow down and watch for wildlife crossing
the road! We frequently see white-tailed deer and sandhill
cranes in the wooded areas and open pastures near the sanctuary.

What To Expect
During your tour, you'll meet the animals and hear the stories
of how they came to live at the sanctuary. While many of our
residents enjoy human contact, we want to emphasize that we
are not a petting zoo. Many of the Sanctuary residents were
injured, ill or justifiably afraid of humans, and most were
not used to being handled. We need to be aware of both the
comfort of the animals and the safety of our guests.
Children under 18 must be directly supervised by an adult
at all times.
Out of respect for the farmed animals that call it home,
we ask that you refrain from bringing meat, dairy products
or eggs to the sanctuary. We do have a full kitchen where
you're welcome to store your vegan snacks and drinks while
you're here. We also have picnic tables and a restroom available
for the use of our visitors.
We also kindly request that you leave your own pets at home,
for both their safety and comfort and that of our resident
dogs and farm animals.
