MEET THE ANIMALS: BamBam | Bette | Edgar | Gilda | Jefferson | Lovey-Dovey | Penny | Persian Brave | Red | Sophia | Veggie

Edgar Rice Burro used to be wild and roam free on the western plains. That is, until the government's Bureau of Land Management decided there were too many donkeys, and they rounded up a bunch of them. You see, ranchers wanted cheap land for raising cattle, so the BLM said the burros had to go. SASHA Farm's founders rescued Edgar and a few of his donkey pals and brought them to Michigan. It may not be the wild west, but they have acres and acres of pasture, a steady supply of food and a nice barn - - the burros sure do seem content in their surroundings at our sanctuary!
