Gandalf started out as the main item on the planned menu for someone's Thanksgiving dinner. He was purchased as a baby chick and was fed and raised with the intent to be slaughtered. As the holiday approached, this turkey's owner had a change of heart. Instead of being killed and eaten, Gandalf was given a permanent home at our shelter. He and the other turkeys are docile, lovable animals that adore being petted.
