Ollie came to us from a meat farm in the summer of 2022. She had suffered for months with a very painful and infected leg injury. The owners were going to send her to slaughter, as they didn’t want to waste their time and money to treat her. Luckily, a couple of neighbors heard about her struggle and wanted to rescue her. They contacted us immediately, picked her up from the farm, and drove her a few hours to the sanctuary. We knew she was in need of immediate medical attention, so we took her directly to MSU for treatment. The vet staff recommended leg amputation to provide her with quality of life. After the surgery, she recovered quickly and came back to her forever home. She is happy, healthy, and enjoying her safety and freedom. She has attached herself to our baby goat, Maria, and her best friend Billy Bob, another sheep sharing her condo.
