2021 - The YEAR of LAZURUS at SASHA Farm

December 30, 2021 Read

Many of you have followed the story of Lazurus and how he came to SASHA Farm this year. We, at the sanctuary, have claimed 2021 as the year of Lazurus. Everyone at SASHA believes that he has been an incredible gift, not only to SASHA Farm, but also to all who struggled throughout this unprecedented year of the Covid pandemic. His difficult expedition home to SASHA turned into a positive one, where he will always have warmth, friendship, food, safety, and medical care. Laz’ days will be filled with loving kindness until his life’s journey at SASHA reaches its natural end. He will never again fear for his life or suffer from lack of water and food. He will never have to shake and cower in fear as humans take bets on how much his remains would sell for.

This once sickly, underweight, frightened little lamb, who was so very close to being slaughtered at the sale barn that fateful day when his two rescuers came upon him, is now a symbol of hope, joy, and renewed faith in the human race as we start a new year. We now have been given yet another chance to be loving and compassionate to all beings on our planet.

Thank you to all who helped him on his road to recovery at SASHA, and to his bright, new beginning. Lazurus has forgiven every human who let him down, as many animals of abuse and neglect do, and he is now living his best life. We would like to send a very sincere THANK YOU to all his wonderful supporters out there, along with his benevolent caregivers at MSU and SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary.

And a final THANKS to every incredible person out there who donated and otherwise supported all the SASHA animal residents in 2021. We will keep working together to make a difference in 2022. Here’s to a NEW YEAR as we renew our vows of compassion and kindness for all sentient beings on this planet.

THANK YOU AGAIN.
